About the class
This class is designed for complete beginners and first-timers. We focus on core movements, simple submissions, and positional awareness — taught at a pace that allows you to learn safely and confidently. You’ll train without the gi, using a constraints-led approach that helps you understand why techniques work, not just how to memorize them. Expect clear instruction, structured drills, and guided rounds so you’re never lost on the mats. No experience required. All fitness levels welcome. Just show up and we’ll take care of the rest. Follow these steps to prepare for class: 1. Wear Proper Gear – Comfortable athletic attire like a rash guard and grappling shorts/spats, no zippers or pockets. 2. Stay Clean – Shower, trim nails, and wear fresh training gear. 3. Hydrate & Eat Smart – Drink water and have a light snack 30-60 mins before class. 4. Arrive Early – Stretch, check in, and get ready. 5. Train Smart – Listen, respect partners, and focus on learning.
